Learn how to check and grade tests

Updated over a week ago

When your students have submitted their answers to a test, the platform will automatically check and grade the exam. As a teacher, you might want to double-check these results before releasing them.

Watch a quick video:

To grade your test, go to the Teacher tab, and click on the Tests tab. You can select the correct class using a drop-down menu in the top-right of the screen.

You can see how many students have submitted their answers under "Results".

You have the option to check the test vertically, or horizontally.

Grading per student (Horizontal)

If you decide to grade per student, it will open up a list of your students, with some general information about how each student performed.

Scores can be adjusted. To see this student's answers, click on the percentage in blue. If you adjust the score, your new score will be shown in blue, and the original score will be shown in parentheses. In the example above, the new score is 19%, and the original score was 17%.

Clicking on the score in blue shows a list of questions. If you previously set up the test settings to show the questions in a randomized order, then you will see the order of questions differently from what your student saw. If you go to Questions, in the column "Display order" you will see the order of questions that the student had on their test.

You can go through the questions one by one to see the answers of the student.

Each problem shows the original question, the student's answer, and the solution. Below that, teachers can adjust the score, and write a comment for the student to see.

❗ For students to see your Comments, make sure to set up:
1. In test settings, under "Show the points per question during the test and afterwards" choose "yes".

2. When releasing results, choose "release" to release all information after a test, which will also include the comments.

Note that students will only be able to see the adjusted score, not the original score. Make sure to save your new score using the 'Save' button on the bottom of each question.

Once you're done, simply click the 'Go back' button to return to the overview

Have you finished checking every test? Make sure to release the scores using the checkboxes on the right of the page.

You can download an .xls file of grades or answers using the 'Download' button.

Grading per question (Vertical)

If you decide to grade per question, it will open up a list of the questions in the test. It will show the average score in percentages per question.

Click on the score to open up the answers per student to that question. You will now see a list of students and their scores.

Clicking on the score opens up the original question, the student's answer, and the solution. Below that, teachers can adjust the score, and write a comment for the student to see. Note that students will only be able to see the adjusted score, not the original score. Make sure to save your new score using the 'Save' button on the bottom of each question.

You can go through the answers vertically.

Use the 'overview' button to go back to the question overview. In the question overview, use the 'Go back' button to return to the test overview.

Downloading test results

It's also possible to download an .xls file with the results of every test. You can do so in the test overview screen (go to the "Teacher" environment, and click on the "Tests" tab). Click on the 'Results' button to download an overview.
