❗Please note: you can only create the practice test package with Author access.
When creating a new package, you can choose from three options: practice, practice test, and diagnostic test. In this article we will explain how to create a practice test, and when to use this type of package.
How does a Practice test package look for students
Students can see the practice test package integrated into the course structure. The package will have a symbol of a clock next to it. They can start the test and complete the exercises. There are no time restrictions, hints, automated feedback or solutions.
Watch a quick video to see practice tests from the students' perspective
The practice test is automatically graded, and students will get results right away. Students can go over the questions and see what they answered wrong.
Back on the home page, students will see that their progress pie chart was updated, based on the practice test result.
They can repeat the practice test as many times as they want.
Results of the Practice test package
Both the student and the teacher can see the results in their Reporting environment.
Practice test package use case
You might want to use a practice test if you want your students to get used to the testing environment before a bigger test. It's also a way of giving students practice without showing them solutions (as well as hints and automated feedback).
How to create a Practice test package
Go to Author-Package and click on the New icon to create a new package.
Under "Type" choose "Practice test".
Fill in the rest of the information: name, position. Set the status to "published". If you don't set it to published now, remember to publish it later in the package editor, under "General".
Search for the exercises that you wish to add to your practice test. We recommend that you search by ID. Click on the plus symbol to add an exercise.
To remove an exercise from the practice test, click on the red X symbol.
Once you have a couple of exercises in your test, you can rearrange the order by dragging and dropping.
