Learn about the steps that you might need to take, due to our name change

❗ This article is intended for schools that use the Bolster Academy platform integrated into an LMS (Canvas, Moodle, Blackboard, etc). It only applies to you if your school used the Bolster Academy link when connecting the two systems.

Why do we have a new name?

Since the founding of our company, we have operated under two names: SOWISO and Bolster Academy. We used the name "SOWISO" with our Dutch clients, and the name "Bolster Academy" for our international clients. We made a decision to stop using the name "Bolster Academy" and move forward with a single name. Please visit our blog post here if you would like to learn more about our decision.

What will change?

This change won't have much effect on you, the teachers, or the students, but there are some technical settings that need tweaking.

When setting up the LTI connection, you (or the IT expert at your school) entered some information into your Learning Management System (LMS): URL, consumer key, and a shared secret.

The URL needs to change to:https://cloud.sowiso.nl/lti

πŸ“… We will make the full switch at the beginning of the next year, so please make sure to change these settings before the 31st of December 2023.

Will this influence users that already have an account that was created via the LMS?

No, these students and teachers can continue using their accounts normally.
